Whitewater Rafting

The Snake River

Few rivers hold as many moods as the Snake. Inside Grand Teton National Park, it slows into wide, glassy water beneath the peaks, drifting past cottonwood groves and sage flats where eagles and elk are as much a part of the float as the current itself. South of Jackson, that same river tightens into Snake River Canyon and comes alive — a run of legendary named rapids, cold spray, and canyon walls rising straight from the water. Between the two, rafting the Snake has become one of the defining ways to spend a summer day in this valley, a rite of passage for first-timers and a favorite return trip for those who know the river well. Both stretches sit within an hour of the ranch, running daily all summer with local outfitters.
